Authorization to issue the visas right away arrived yesterday in the late afternoon, so we issued them this morning, and the Obnoxious Ones left the Embassy at 9.30.
Even more obnoxious journalist was lurking outside the building, so he probably got them, but that's not my responsibility anymore.
And now I can breathe again. Boss, too.

Last night's working dinner was a strange mix of "Mmmh, lovely food" and "OMG when's it going to end?" The latter was due to the total and utter indigestibility of the four people from EVN -- they're just total un-persons, and the boss-un-person is so full of himself, patronizing and disgusting to look at (especially while eating) and... well I suppose you can't call him stupid, because he isn't really, but... emotional intelligence of a piece of lint combined with the conviction that he knows it all. Indigestible. And I hate people who just order wine for everybody -- even if they're the ones who pay the bill -- without any consideration for the others' tastes or preferences. Because I, e.g., do NOT like Chardonnay; most of them, and yesterday's was no exception, are way too sweet for my taste.
Anyway, that, too, passed.

Fo tonight I'd initiallly planned to go out with Alexandra, but since I'm out a lot this week I asked her whether she'd like to come to my place instead. So today will be a freely chosen No Sports Day, and I'll go grocery shopping after work, and then I'll head home, put on some music and cook. Plus, Alexandra who is as crazy about animals as I am gets to meet ze boyz, and ze boyz won't have to spend another evening on their own. Slavica is there today, but I'm the Mother Goddess after all.

Yesterday's bedlam had one advantage: it totally took my mind off any residual Mr H-related thoughts. I mean, I'd really like to know how the inspection is going, but this time I swear I'm not going to contact him by whichever means. If he calls/writes, ok. If he doesn't, ok.
Oh, and unsurprisingly I didn't hear anything from Carla. When we had our working lunch on Monday (boss, me, Anita, Stefan and Stefanie) she was at the same place with a few colleagues-- we merely exchanged a wave, and that was it. Oh, well. Ususally I read people well, and they don't disappoint me. I think I can take it, just this once.
