Eye and knickers
Mar. 29th, 2011 09:25 amWell, I've seen stranger subject lines.
A blood vessel in the left corner of my left eye has ruptured. Nothing serious, it only hurts very slightly, but certainly doesn't improve my looks.
Re knickers: I ordered the marvellous, no-VPL knickers from Marks&Spencer, and they are indeed marvellous as far as the no-VPL-ness is concerned, but there's a serious drawback: the upper edge has a tendency to roll down. I'm wearing trousers and therefore not having parnoid thoughts about losing my knickers and ending up standing in a public space with them around my ankles, but I'm certainly very glad not to be wearing a skirt.
In other news, it's raining but not cold. Weather forecast for the weekend very favourable.
Boss sent me to attend something incredibly boring at 10, which is lucky insofar as the venue is round the corner from the shopping centre. So I'll just show my face and then run off to buy: sun screen, allergy pills, walking shoes, and maybe a scarf or two and/or a bit of jewellery. Hairdresser at 12, so time's limited and priorities must be observed. And I'd like to have a bite before going to have my hair dyed and cut, because otherwise I might starve right in the middle of it.
Not sure yet whether I'll be going to the gym today or declaring a no-sports day. I guess it's going to be the latter, because I've really been doing a lot of exercise these days, and the body needs a bit of rest.
Speaking of exercise: Valentina sent me a message yesterday. The doc has given the all-clear, i.e. this week and probably also the next she's going to start again with the kids' lessons, and as soon as she feels up to it -- migt take a bit, after three months of forced rest -- she'll call me sowe can play again. I've missed her, so this really makes me happy.
Knickers rolling down YET AGAIN. Makes me feel like a hippopotamus, even though I know perfectly well that I'm not. Drat them. Well at least I bought only one black and one white pair, so the loss isn't really dramatic.
