Both pairs of anti-VPL-but-rolling-down knickers have been consigned to the dustbin, without any feelings of regret on my part. They did have a certain entertainment value, since they reminded me of the bit in Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason, where she goes to that lawyers' dinner with Mark Darcy and the horrible slimming thingy she's wearing keeps rolling up to her waist, but that wasn't enough to grant them a permanent residence permit in my underwear department.

I bought Vargas Llosa's The Feast of the Goat yesterday and started reading it. So far, which is about 30 pages into the book, I quite like it. I don't know much about the history of the Dominican Republic, or their long-time dictator Trujillo, so it's certainly very interesting from that point of view. Neither had I been aware of Dominicans hating Haitians, and of the massacre Trujillo apparently committed.

No-sports day yesterday, with all the trimmings, i.e. pasta with cream-and-mushroom sauce for dinner, wine, boyz and falling asleep on the couch.

Maybe I'll go on a short trip to Vienna around 17 April. Not quite decided yet, because it's close to Easter, i.e. tickets are insanely expensive and, as per usual, I really don't feel very inclined to go. On the other hand, the 15th is my mother's birthday, so it would be nice to see her. Plus, I could have a look at my flat, where Elena is going to stay over Easter, and see whether it's fit to be used. So probably I'll end up going, if only for two or three days (including the travelling days).
