Especially if the weather is gorgeous, you're well rested after eight hours of sleep, and the week after this one will be a short one, too.
I had to cancel running yesterday, as I was too tired. Stefanie wasn't much better off, so she didn't really mind and just went for a walk on her own. I, OTOH, did Pilates -- solo lesson, and oh was it tough -- afterwards had a scrumptious omelette with lots of veggies, raw diced tomatoes, a metric ton of garlic and pesto, the whole accompanied by white wine, and fell asleep at 7 on the couch. Woke up at 10, watched TV for a bit and went to bed at midnight. Slept till 5.15. Fresh as a daisy today.
I just wish I hadn't dreamt of having very, very nice sex with my boss. Or, failing that, I wish I didn't remember the dream. I'm going to feel a bit awkward today. Seeing, however, as I recently complained about never having any even remotely erotic dreams, I guess I shouldn't be complaining. I wish the male lead had been played by somebody else, though. *cringes*

The Trio Infernal, whom I haven't mentioned recently, are fine. Today's diplomatic mail ought to contain, among other things, my two cat books, which I'm looking forward to reading, and I hope there'll be some useful advice on how to make things even better. Of course there are limits to how close the three can and will become, but I'd really like to arrive at the as-good-as-it-gets stage. So maybe there is a way to make them less wary of physical proximity (short of dousing them with roast chicken perfume, I mean) -- I can see the mechanisms but honestly have no idea how to break them up or bypass them. So I hope the books will be useful.

What I forgot to mention: ex-SIL Renate and I will most probably make the trip next year to Australia together. I had no idea she intended to go as well, but of course it would be the ideal solution: the horror of long-distance flights can be borne more easily if shared, Daniel won't feel obliged to take his entire paid leave in order to keep his visitor company, and exploring together is more fun than doing so on one's own. So squeeee! for new, improved travel plans. I'm planning to take three weeks off work, two of which will be dedicated to Australia, and the third to recovering from jet lag and the change of climate (hopefully not a terrible cold, but it might happen). I've never before done the go-from-deep-winter-to-high-summer thing, so I'm already curious as to how I'm going to like it.

Another travelling project involves Berlin: Pinar, my Turkish colleague and friend, is going to be posted to Berlin come September, and Elena and I have already decided to visit her next spring.

So it's only Warsaw and Vilnius (where Gabriele and Jasmin&Stefan&daughter Jana live now -- those are my friends from the time in Ankara) I somehow have to fit in. Summer is pretty much out, but maybe something can be arranged for October, depending on when exactly boss is going to leave. That won't be a long holiday, however, just 5 days or so.
