The pool we tried out yesterday was disappointing -- pee soup, just as the other one. I did swim 20 lengths but won't return. Lake Ohrid, here I come!
New addiction: playing mahjong on the computer. Much more fun than solitaire, and I still can't win more than one game out of ten if I use the dragon layout.
Plot hole: OK, neither does the reader know there's such a thing as time turners, nor do Harry, Ron and Hermione. But it stands to reason that the Hogwarts teachers know. The time turner may be a rare and expensive thing and difficult to come by, but the fact that there is such a thing as a time turner can't be *that* obscure.
There is a staff room at Hogwarts, and teachers surely talk among each other. Hermione, being as brilliant as she is, would surely be discussed every now and again. Her taking so many subjects and participating in classes which are being held at the same time therefore can't have escaped all of them, right? So they would at least have guessed she was using a time turner, i.e. it wouldn't have remained a secret -- people would have speculated, and Snape would've heard, and thus, when Black got away, he might have come to the right conclusion.
Or maybe that's exactly what happened, and that's the reason why he's so furious at the end of PoA? Because Dumbledore settled three children with the task of getting Black out? I haven't yet finished PoA, so I'll keep this in mind when I arrive at the scene. But as I remember it, Snape is simply furious because Black has escaped.
So that would be a plot hole, wouldn't it?
I must say that my dislike of Dumbledore is still growing.
Hungry already, and it' still two hours till lunch. A few rounds of mahjong might help...
