It's Monday again, but all's not lost
Sep. 26th, 2011 11:22 am...because I'm making arrangements for all the nice things to come.
1) this working week only extends till Wednesday, then I'll have five days (including weekend of course) off work.
2) wine tastings for Janine's visit have been planned
3) next week will see me working only on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then 6th to 11th off work.
4) There's no way I'll start thinking about what comes after 11 October
Yesterday was basically an offering to the Goddess of Laziness. I think she appreciated it as much as I did. And the Critters, of course, who were happy with lots of cuddles and snoozing-on-top-of-Mother-Goddess time.
After finishing A Feast for Crows I went back to Game of Thrones, which was an excellent idea, because now I know all the dramatis personae and thus might actually remember what happened when and why after a re-read. Right now some things are just completely muddled up in my memory, and I don't like that disorganized feeling -- it's like being led through an unknown city by somebody who knows it, instead of discovering it on my own: in the end, there are disjointed images and memories, but I have no real grasp of the place.
My hopes plummeted rather brutally when I read the last pages of A Feast for Crows: it's a kind of A/N by GRRM, promising the continuation for the next year. Written in 2005. A Dance with Dragons came out two months ago... And honestly, the guy doesn't look all too hale and healthy, so I hope he'll finish the last two books before kicking the bucket...
( Cut for spoilers )
I ought to start writing the quarterly report now. Up till now, I've only printed out all the stuff I need, and I'm afraid sorting it and putting it into a folder may only take another 20 minutes... Maybe the Reporting Muse will wake up after lunch.
