Boss, entering my office a few minutes ago: Do you know who has got an appointment with me at 3 p.m.?
Me: No... *looks up boss's outlook diary* OMG, not that JERK!
Boss, crestfallen: The very one.
Me: What does he want?
Boss, visibly wilting: He's written a book and means to give me a copy.
Me: Oh noes! You poor thing!
Boss: You wouldn't...
Me: Be there as well? I don't think so.
Boss: But...
Me: After you told me yesterday that Schwarzenegger is prettier than I am? No way!
Boss: That wasn't what I meant! I meant-
Me: No way!
Boss: Why not? What have you got to do at 3 that can't wait?
Me: Well, erm, I guess I'll be slowly starting to think about changing into my tennis outfit...
Boss, dripping sarcasm: And we wouldn't want to interfere with that, now would we?
