Why is it...
May. 4th, 2012 02:03 pm...that the best (or so I think) ideas always pop into my head when I'm in bed and almost asleep?
(Make no mistake, I'm aware that the state of almost-asleep-ness might be what makes them look so good)
I think I may have found a way to get round the problem, though: if there's enough time before sleep takes me, I "label" the idea -- something like a shiny catch phrase or title. Not sure if it's always going to work, but last night it worked, and I managed to salvage the idea I had for an SSHG prompt.
I still like it, which corroborates my theory that those ideas aren't so bad and deserve to be dragged to the other side of sleep.
Another theory, which isn't really a theory because it's a fact, has been corroborated, too: I'm prone to addictive behaviour.
While searching for something completely different on the internet, I found a new game: http://topwordgames.com/wordit
OMG I love it.
For a non-native speaker it's even more fiendishly difficult, and I've never gone beyond level 14 (there are 21...), but it's perfect for alleviating office boredom -- no other game has ever been able to give me this 100% concentrated look that fools everybody into thinking I'm doing something serious. *snickers*
Last item on the list of not overly important topics:
I have a idea for an o-fic. Just an idea for now, the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. And I'm being all wibbly about it. For the time being I'm going to keep it between my hands very carefully, like a just-hatched chick, and look at it every now and then.
