That would be me, btw. Not at work, mind you, but I do get quite stressed when things aren't quite as they should be at home.
The heating issue is really, really getting on my nerves -- it's still ok and working, but the water pressure is rather low. Plumber will come by again today, and I would really have liked to be there, but there may or may not be an important (not to me, and not really at all, but you know how people are...) meeting at the Embassy which I'd then have to host, because the Ambassador *has* to be present at some cultural event in Tetovo. Speak of not getting one's priorities straight...
So I keep telling myself that Slavica or the plumber are going to call me anyway if there's a problem and/or question, and that I have air conditioning, which I hate but which would provide temporary heating, but I'm still feeling queasy and frazzled and not at all calm.
This, however, explains the rather horrible dream I had this morning just before I woke up: I was in my flat -- as so often in dreams, it didn't look like mine but I knew it was mine -- and saw (reflected by a mirror, funnily enough) that something that looked like a skeletal version of my central heating unit was on fire. I didn't do anything, though, but continued to chat with a friend who was visiting (I think it was my predecessor here in Skopje -- strange...). I lit a candle, and it fell over, and the table caught fire. Then some other things (curtains maybe? Don't remember) caught fire, and I asked the friend to call the fire brigade while I was attempting to douse the flames. Then I woke up.
It wasn't exactly a nightmare, but very unpleasant, and that feeling of being unsettled has persisted throughout the morning.

The weekend was fine, though, apart from the heating problem on Saturday.
Since I'd had to wait for the plumber, I didn't feel like going to the gym and instead went running in the afternoon -- it was one of those deplorably few but glorious days when the feet seem to have sprouted wings. I also talked for an hour on Skype with Daniel the Beloved Nephew, and there's a slim possibility that he might go to Austria for two weeks at the end of December. I'm certainly keeping my fingers crossed for that to happen!
On Saturday evening we had a goodbye dinner for Anita, our trade attaché, just a few of us girls, and that, too was very nice. Plus I stuffed myself silly on an absolutely marvellous roast lamb.

Yesterday it snowed a little, and there was a nasty, northerly wind blowing, so I stayed home reading, doing a few household chores and generally enjoying the laziness. Got started on Nick Hornby's "Slam", which I like a lot. Read exchange fic, but am slightly behind on reviewing. I intend to rectify that very soon, though.
