It's really a bit unfair, come to think of it.
I mean, I live in a southern European country, at about the same latitude as Rome or Ankara, and somehow "southern" is a bit misleading: due to the rigidly continental climate, we get those horribly hot, dry summers, but we also get grim winters. Not as cold maybe as Austrian winters, but still pretty cold. And with lots of snow, which doesn't go away quickly.
So this is the view from my living room window about an hour ago:

It's not snowing that heavily anymore now, so I hope to get a taxi.
