But remember, it's Friday
Feb. 1st, 2013 09:46 amAnd not a bad one, either.
There will, however, be a team meeting in half an hour... I sincerely hope that Gerald will manage to rein in his antagonistic tendencies and for once not act like a complete and utter git.
After the ordeal, I'll have to do a little shopping (nothing more exciting than cream for my feet and plastic bowls for the street cats' water) and then there'll be lunch with my Slovenian colleague Alesa. After that, not much, I daresay.
And then a glorious, though much too short, weekend.
Four of "my girls" are going to Istanbul for Women's Day (March 8) and asked whether I'd like to come, too. They will be going by bus, but there's an alternative arrangement for going by plane, and so I think I'll join them. It should be fun -- not that I'm overly eager to set foot into Turkey again, but it's Isatabul, not Ankara, and it's with the girls.
It seems that my non-confrontational behaviour vis-à-vis the Ambassador wasn't such a bad idea. He's had a talk with Gerald and is now convinced that he wants him to be sent back to Vienna. Since that's where he (ambassador) is going today, he'll be talking to the People That Matter. Non-confrontational behaviour aside, I honestly saw no reason to dissuade him from his plans -- I haven't had so much as an inkling of goodwill lately from Gerald, so I don't see why I ought to show any. I merely pointed out to the Ambassador that, if Gerald really was to leave, three people would be leaving (i.e. Irene and I as well), which might create a bit of a problem. Self-serving bitch that I am, I also offered to stay on a little longer, should Gerald be recalled. Let's see what comes of it.
No other news. I still haven't finished ilitening to Season 3 of "Cabin Pressure", because I keep falling asleep. I do, however, intend to continue on the weekend -- afternoons are better for listening than evenings.
End of broadcast.
Good weekends to everybody!
ETA post-lunch:
Did I say "just cream for my feet and plastic bowls"?
Well ha-ha.
