The toms are yowling and howling rather than meeping, though, because their hormones are all over the place due to the unseasonably warm weather. Caterwauling and the sounds of feline battle are rife, and I just hope that the male part (I meant to write "male member" but nobly refrained) of my Embassy Trio Infernal will keep away from the kerfuffles -- I've seen some of the neighbourhood toms, and they're very big. The poor little fellow wouldn't stand a chance.

Poor little me, OTOH, is feeling bedraggled because I have the beginnings of a head cold. The nose is dripping -- so long as it's dripping, that's unpleasant but fine, but I hopw it won't get all blocked up as it usually does. Otherwise I'm feeling fine, though, so maybe it will pass.

I've been a little worried about my increasingly strange sleeping pattern these days, because falling asleep around 8.30 p.m. and waking up at 3 a.m. isn't exactly my idea of fun. I did get enough sleep, but being up *that* early is just not very amusing. Last night, though -- although that might have been due to the incipient cold -- I managed to keep my eyes open till 10.30 and woke this morning at 4.30, which is a distinct improvement. I hope it will last.
Not quite sure about playing tennis today, because if I can't breathe...
I'll give it another hour, to see how it develops, and if it doesn't get markedly better I'll cancel and just shuffle of to the gym. When exercising on my own, I can at least decide the tempo and rhythm.
In any case I'm going to buy lots of lemons -- there shall be gin-and-tonics tonight, with added vitamin C, which, if it doesn't help, certainly tastes nice.

Yesterday I bought lots of tofu, and another jar of 100% organic ghee, and more ready-made mix for gluten-free bread. Last time I went to the organic shop, I also bought pasta made of rice flour -- not something I'm going to try again. It's nothing like Asian rice noodles. It's Italian-type pasta made of rice flour, and it takes an eternity to reach an even marginally acceptable state of tenderness (as my brother would say, "That's not al dente, that's al filling"). So no more of those. Oh, and I also bought some buckwheat flour. Will try to make pancakes, hoping that the result will be more acceptable than the amaranth desaster.

Still not finished listening to season 3 of "Cabin Pressure",  since I've been consistently falling asleep while still watching The Perfect Dinner. I have two pairs of sports pants to shorten, however, and will probably do so on the weekend -- it's the perfect occupation to go with listening to something. And then I'll have a look at amazon, having realized that BBC productions come out on CD/DVD right after the last episode has aired, i.e. season 4 ought to be available quite soon.
