A little bit of whining

Some of this may be TMI, so it goes under a cut (nothing too horrible, though)

I'll concentrate on looking at the bright side, though: I'm having my massage today at 12, and afterwards I'm not going back to work, feeling even more justified because, the way I'm feeling, I would've been entitled to a day of sick leave anyway. So there. I only dragged myself to work, because Gerald, whom the eternal fires may consume slowly from the feet upwards, isn't here, and if I'm not here, either, the whole visa business would come to a grinding halt. But we close at 11.30, so perfect timing. The rest, whatever the rest may be, can go hang.
I just interrupted my writing, because one of the Embassy Trio Infernal was sitting on the windowsill, demanding food.
The front garden, where food is served, is easily (for a cat) accessible, so of course I'm not just feeding the neighbour's cats but a lot of other felines from the close neighbourhood, not that I mind in the least. Today, "my" kitties were being joined by a young-ish black tom, whom I know already; when he started coming here for food, he was very shy, but now he enters my office with the others. The funny thing about him is, he's a real, quintessential tom -- big head, slim, athletic body, balls like church bells, but he has the most teeny-tiny, boys'-choir, soprano voice you can possibly imagine. So funny. I think he's faintly embarrassed by his vocal shortcomings.
See? I'm already feeling better from the combined effect of painkiller and cat love. The pain killer, bless it, also works for the typical, hollow-sore abdominal pain.
So there's definitely light at the end of the tunnel.
Also, I'm considering whether to participate in the Lucius Big Bang. Maybe pledging to write two fics is too much, since I'm also going to participate in the SSHG promptfest? Decisions, decisions... I'm going to have a look at the LBB timeline, maybe that will help.
