So, my new -- and as far as I can judge it, only -- task is this:
Go through the online editions of Europe's main newspapers (plus the New York Times), copy-and-paste links to the most important articles into an email, send said email to a predefined list of recipients.
OMG I feel so intellectually challenged.
OTOH, I've actually got something to do for the first hour at work, which is something I suppose.
Besides, while working at the computer, the sound of the keyboard is sufficient to cover the noise of my office mate's reflux, which is a bit disgusting, so I'm doubly grateful.

The good news is that I've found a tennis coach; the first double lesson is next Thursday, from 1 to 3 p.m. (lunch break, mwahahaha)
Unfortunately I'll have to give up on the fencing project, at least for the time being, because none of the available associations, institutions etc. offer lessons before 8 p.m., and I know from experience that I can't sleep if I do anything cardio after 8 p.m.

Went to see "This Is the End" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1245492/?ref_=nv_sr_1) with my friend Lois -- the closest I can come to describing it is "mix Ghostbusters with Monty Python's Meaning of Life, add Independence Day parody and shake until foaming and slightly disgusting-looking, garnish with a sprig of Hangover". It's outrageously, blackly funny, and certainly nothing I'd show a young person under 16. But OMG I laughed until my glasses were fogging up. The actors must've had such fun making that movie (they're all playing themselves).

Now, I'll treat myself to another 20 minutes of reflux noises and will then head off towards temporary, lunch-break freedom.
