Vienna is a wonderful city, it truly is, but after living seven years in southern, dry, continental climates, getting used to less light and more humidity isn't quite my idea of fun. I think I'll have to do the slightly unhealthy thing and use the sun-bed at the gym once a week, to make up for the lack of light and UV rays. Once a week ought to be enough to keep me happy, while not doing any significant damage to my skin, and I won't be sporting that artificially-leathery tan, either, which you get from excessive use of the sun-bed.
And it's only October... The really horrible days usually come towards the end of winter, in late January and February: sometimes the city is under a thick blanket of fog for weeks, and the suffering is further exacerbated by the weather forecast trilling at you about sunny days in the western part of Austria.

It's a slight improvement over the warm wind called Föhn, which we've been having for the last few days -- true, it makes for exceptionally fine, warm weather, but has a very detrimental effect on people. I've been lucky so far, because I didn't get a migraine, but I've been feeling like a wet rag yesterday and on Sunday, unable and unwilling to engage in any kind of activity.

Well, I did take Rambo to the vet's yesterday. He now weighs 2,55 kg -- which means a weight gain of 400g over the last three weeks -- and was confirmed to be completely healthy. And he tested negative for Feline Leukemia, for which a million yayyyyyyy!s. So he got both the FL and the other shots yesterday; he's being slightly subdued today, but nothing I'm worried about. He just doesn't run as much as usual. Besides, I'll go home during lunch break, and if he seems ill in any way, I can take him back to the vet immediately. Poor kitteh, he was very, very unhappy to have his leg partly shaved, because they had to take blood for the FL test. I'm SO glad we could do all this stuff here in Vienna, where not only is the vet better qualified, he also has assistants to help with the patients. *sideways glance at Lucius-made scar on right wrist*

I am now almost convinced that the office is located in a different dimension -- impossible that a mere two hours should be *this* long anywhere but here...
