Seven hours of sleep, and I'm still drunk. Not hungover, drunk. Will take headache pills, just to be on the safe side.
Dinner last night was soooo good -- steak, lamb chops, home-made crisps, to name but a few. And enlightening, because, wow, that guy becomes unpleasant when he's drunk.
Will have to sleep during trip to Bitola.
*whimpers*

ETA 6.50: Feeling less drunk now. Had shower, cleaned teeth (urgh, I fell asleep last night without cleaning them), took stomach protection and headache pills, now having coffee and juice.
Lesson learned (how many times already???): when you're very hungry, start with water and switch to wine later, after starters.
But the wine... Greatness. A Cabernet Frank with 14% alcohol, smooth, round, strong aroma of berries. Mmmh.
Excellent lamb chops, but there wasn't much meat on them, so we shared a steak afterwards. And then we discovered that they actually make potato crisps at that place, as in "make them from scratch". Oh, the yumminess. And they're using good oil, because if there's one thing my stomach reacts badly to, it's food deep-fried in bad oil.

A word re. yesterday's workout at the gym: I followed Stefan's advice to put on 5 more kilos than I think I can cope with and do fewer repetitions. Turns out that I obviously can cope with a lot more than I thought, and the muscles aren't even sore. One shouldn't do this kind of intensive training more than once a week, so I won't. But I was surprised to discover that I can put 15 kg on the shoulder machine and still manage 3x9 repetitions with a bit of teeth-clenching. Stefan had predicted massive sweating and panting, but that didn't happen -- no surprises there, because I'm physically fitter than he is, plus my muscles are a lot smaller i.e. they need less oxygen and get all they need without the heart beating any faster.

And: mmmh, coffee!

The unpleasant drunk is the guy who probably wrote the anonymous letters re Mr H? Did he spill any helpful info? (glares at him)

That's him, yes, at least I believe he did it.
Nothing really useful, no (at least nothing I remember, ahem...). But now I know that the inspection team will arrive on the 22nd.

Der Freund, von dem ich annehme, dass er die anonymen Briefe geschrieben hat.

Good enlightening or bad enlightening? Though, drunk unpleasantness probably carries its weight in both. :/

I am curious, why is it a desirable routine to have fewer reps with higher weights attached? That's generally the thing to do for achieving bulk, not strength and endurance, and the shoulders and upper back wouldn't strike me as prime choice for beefing up...

Difficult to say, really, but it's always intersting to see what character traits are reinforced by alcohol. Because, as my mother always says, alcohol doesn't change you, it merely brings out what's inside. Wise woman.

Not a desirable routine as such, because as you say it achieves bulk rather than strength and endurance. OTOH, there are certain muscle groups -- shoulders, pectorals, upper back -- which I'd like to develop a bit more, so this means high impact and fewer repetitions for those babies. Once they've grown, they shall be nursed and strengthened through the usual routine. Pectorals are especially important, since they're the "natural bra", and shoulders and upper back are extemely important if you have a sedentary job involving lots of working with the computer. Lower back, too, but I'm working on that anyway, though using only my own weight, since that's a very sensitive area.
