Much too early for writing an entry

But I woke up at 5.30 and am now at my second cup of tea. First traces of human intelligence are showing.

Completely random question: how do you make it clear to your cat that he can sit on your lap while you're at the computer but not when you're on the toilet?

I really, really need to write something. But I won't start the re-write until most of the plot outline is finished, which it isn't.
I thought the Regency challenge might be fun, but came to the conclusion that I don't like imitating styles. Maybe the sequel to 'Pygmalion'? *sighs* I really don't know.

For vonlooney: This morning on the radio, I heard the first movement of Leos Janacek's "Nebel" (="Mist") and immediately thought of you. Just in case you're searching for some new piece of piano music, this might just be the thing for you, and it didn't sound too difficult, either.

A silly afterthought: the word 'mist' exists in German, too, it's pronounced the same way as in English, but it means 'garbage'. Not to mention that 'gift' is the German word for 'poison'. I remember my mother telling me--I was little then, maybe 6 or 7, and didn't know a single English word--that she was going to send a present to some relative in Canada and that, in order to avoid its being opened by customs control, she'd write 'GIFT' on the package. I thought it was a little weird, but was absolutely convinced they'd never dare touch the package.
