Slight miscalculation
Mar. 15th, 2009 08:48 amWe're having a baby shower for Jasmin today, which doubles as Doris' farewell party.
I'd meant to go shopping yesterday, but then some kind of blizzard started at noon, and so I thought, never mind, I can do it on Sunday morning. The weather was fine again in the evening, so no problem.
Or so I thought.
Today, when I woke up, the light coming in through the curtains was that specific kind of white light you get when there's snow. And there is SNOW. At least five to seven inches I'd say - no idea when it started.
Bugger.
And I have to do the shopping - vouchers, even if self-made, just aren't the right thing for a baby shower.
Bugger, bugger, bugger.
I'll venture out into the white hell at ten. Boy am I glad to have neither car nor driving licence. Taxi is much better in these circumstances.
