Nomen est Omen -- for once, a good thing
Mar. 17th, 2013 06:01 pmThe black-and-white cat that was run over wasn't Harry, who is now the Cat Who Lived. I'm very happy. Even better, she evidently has got used to me to such a degree that this morning she actually let me touch her to remove a torn-off plastic bag handle from around her neck.
One of the females in my "herd" is pretty heavily pregnant -- I know Skopje doesn't need any more cats, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing the kittens. Stupid, I know, but since they're going to be there anyway I can just as well enjoy them. After three very cold days, the weather will again be getting warmer starting on Tuesday, so the kittens stand a better chance of survival. As far as the weather is concerned, anyway -- traffic is a much greater danger.
It's been a lazy weekend, with lots of exercise and also cooking. I made a fist-class risotto yesterday (green asparagus, mushrooms, zucchini), served with spicy, stir-fried prawns and a rocket salad with coriander-lime-and-chili dressing. Absolutely yummy. Theres some left over, to be heated up when I get back home tomorrow after gym -- ravenous as I usually am after exercising, it'll be good to have something nice that doesn't take a lot of time to heat.
Irene is back among the living, and apparently I didn't catch the virus from her.
Absolutely nothing else to report, apart from the fact that I'm not looking forward to going to work tomorrow, but that's Sunday evening for you...
